About the Band Awards

Each year, the Warsash Band has a tradition of acknowledging members of the band who:

• have placed above and beyond effort in the band over the year in-order to support the good of the band;
• have assisted the band in general ways;
• have contributed significantly during rehearsal sessions;
• have contributed through their efforts to the good of the band.

To recognise these exceptional contributions, we present the Director of Music Training Section and Main Band awards during our Christmas concert each year.

The Jon Audain Cup for outstanding musical achievement was introduced in 2024. This award has been created to commemorate our inspirational Director of Music Jon Audain, who tragically passed away in September 2024. With both the Warsash Band and his work as a music teacher, Jon was passionate about supporting everyone to reach the limits of their musical potential. In recognition of this, the Jon Audain Cup is presented to the band member who has shown outstanding musical development over the past year.
